Learn how to crochet the Snow Day Scarf this week!
While we’re in the thick of the winter season, now seems like a great time to introduce a great crochet scarf that is something you can either make on a snowy day you have off from work! This crochet scarf is made with any worsted weight yarn, in any color you choose. I love the look of this scarf with a white, or cream color because it reminds me most of the beauty of winter.
The repeated pattern, crocheted length-wise, creates a scarf with a lot of width, which is perfect for wrapping around your neck while the cold wind blows by.
One thing to keep in mind with the pattern below, is the scarf as written is about 6 feet in length, but can be adjusted to be either smaller or longer depending on your preference. As long as the beginning chain is a multiple of 3.
So the things we’ll need for this scarf are:
- Any worsted weight yarn
- J Crochet Hook
- Scissors
- Tapestry Needle
The directions for this pattern are written below, but you can also follow along as I show you each step in the video at the bottom.
- Chain (ch) 225
- Single crochet (sc) into the 2nd chain from the hook, then sc into every chain for the remainder of the row
- ch3 and turn work
- Double crochet (dc) into each stitch across the row
- ch3 and turn work
- dc into the 2nd stitch, ch1, then dc into the same stitch
- Skip the next two stitches, then dc into third stitch, ch1, dc into the same stitch.
- Repeat this step for the remainder of the row, until you have 2 stitches left. dc into the turning chain space.
- Ch3 and turn work
- Repeat previous row
- Continue repeating steps 3-9 twice more
- Single crochet across whole row
- Cut yarn from skein. Use tapestry needle to weave in your ends.
